Orthokeratology &
corneal refractive
therapy RIDGEWOOD, NY

Corneal refractive therapy, or orthokeratology, is a non-surgical approach to correcting your vision. Gas permeable contact lenses are worn while you sleep and are removed in the morning. Overnight, the special lenses reshape your cornea allowing for clear vision without glasses or contact lenses during the daytime!

Not everyone is a candidate for orthokeratology. A consultation will need to be done to determine if you are a good candidate. Candidates can be of any age, as long as you have healthy eyes.
The effects of orthokeratology are almost immediate. Once the proper lenses are fit, optimal vision can be reached in as short as 14 days.
Studies have demonstrated that corneal refractive therapy (CRT) (myopia management) may also slow down the progression of myopia (nearsightedness) in children.

If you are concerned that your child’s nearsightedness is increasing year to year, and you would like to slow down the progression – orthokeratology (OrthoK) may be an option.
